Chapter 9

Stoney sat up in bed the next morning thinking that this was all a dream. She had to pinch herself to make sure. The night before played over and over in her head as she tried to wrap her mind around everything that was going on. She and Asad had talked for a couple hours. That was all. They simply talked and got acquainted before he abruptly told her that he was going to bed since he had to get up for the workday ahead.

A self-made millionaire, he didn’t come from money like she’d assumed. To her surprise, he had been born in Compton to working class parents. His father was a janitor at a high school, and his mother worked as a supervisor at a plant that manufactured tires. They owned their modest three-bedroom home and two cars that were far from luxurious.

​He had an older sister and a younger brother, so he was the middle child. Also, Asad was exceptionally smart. When he was ten, he took an IQ test and scored a 160, which proved that he was literally a genius. With his test results came a scholarship to a private school in Beverly Hills when he was eleven. There weren’t many black students there, but he managed to graduate early at the age of sixteen and went on to UCLA. By the age of twenty-one he had a master’s degree in computer science.

Before he even finished getting his undergrad degree, he was working on developing a security system that made it virtually impossible to hack into a computer or put a virus on it. This wasn’t simply virus and spam protection for personal computers. It was way more advanced than that. A year after its development was finished the program was bought by the CIA, FBI, ATF, the CDC and many other agencies to ensure that their computer files were secure. That alone brought in millions for him.

Now he was the CEO of a major software development company called Quinox Inc. Not only that, but he was also a professional gamer and YouTuber that went by the name AONE2U. He never showed his face or revealed his true identity but used an avatar that he’d created. He did live streams and let’s plays. Millions of dollars came from that alone. He was worth over six hundred million dollars, which meant that he was close to billionaire statues with his level of ambition.

To Stoney that was all so dope, and she couldn’t help but admire the man who would eventually take her virginity. She’d never been attracted to a nerd before, but he was a fine ass nerd. She’d always been into those damn thugs. Although she didn’t know him, and it was no real emotions in their recent exchange, she still felt a connection to Asad. However, there was no sign from him if he was feeling any chemistry. She obviously found him attractive, and he’d told her that she was beautiful, but she didn’t know if he found her appealing.
